Harris® Brazing Filler Metal, Series: Dynaflow®, 1/2 x 1/8 in Dia, 28 in Length, #28, Stick, Chemical Composition: 6.1% Phosphorus, 6% Silver and Copper Balance, 1300 to 1500 deg F Brazing, Applicable Materials: Copper/Brass
Features:
- Dynaflow® is a frequent choice for copper brazing
- The phosphorus content makes it self-fluxing on copper
- Wide melting range allows operators to fill loose connections and cap or build up around finished joint, however when heated above its liquidus it will penetrate tight connections
- A suitable choice to braze brass, operators should take care to avoid over heating the brass and use Stay-Silv® white brazing flux in these applications
- Popular brazing filler metal for HVAC and refrigeration connections because it's melting range and copper joint strength makes it an excellent lower cost replacement for 15% silver alloys
- Corrosion resistance is generally similar to copper base metal, but phosphorus containing alloys, including Harris®, should not be used if the braze is exposed to sulfur or sulfur compounds in service
