ROLL PIN- 1/8 X 7/8 - PLATED - John Blue S-2427

The John Blue S-2427 is a plated roll pin measuring 1/8 inch in diameter and 7/8 inch in length. Roll pins, also known as tension or spring pins, are designed to secure machine parts in proper alignment or fasten them together. They feature a slot that compresses upon insertion, providing a tight fit against the hole wall. This design ensures they do not flex after installation, making them suitable for fastening, pivoting, and holding applications. To install, squeeze the pin closed and insert it into a hole slightly smaller than the pin's diameter; tension holds it tight against the hole wall. At least one end is chamfered to aid insertion. Breaking strength is measured as double shear, which is the force required to break a pin into three pieces. Steel pins have good strength. Pins that meet ASME B18.8.2 specifications conform to ASME standards for material and dimensions.
