The PISTON (DP-282-P) is a component designed for use in CDS-John Blue Company's DP-282-P Poly Diaphragm Pump. This pump is engineered for applications requiring a maximum flow rate of 28.2 gallons per minute (GPM) and a maximum pressure of 218 pounds per square inch (PSI). It operates efficiently at a maximum speed of 550 revolutions per minute (RPM) and is capable of handling a maximum power output of 4.1 horsepower (HP). The pump features three diaphragms and is constructed with a polypropylene head that includes an aluminum die-cast core, providing superior strength. Additionally, the pump is equipped with 316 stainless steel washers and diaphragm bolts, enhancing its durability and resistance to corrosion. The design incorporates a die-cast crankcase with a new cooling system, and the chemically resistant diaphragm material is pre-deformed to reduce deflection, thereby increasing diaphragm life. The pump is compatible with most corrosive chemicals and can be driven by a power take-off (PTO), electric motor, or gasoline engine, depending on specific application needs. The inlet and outlet sizes are 1½ inches hose barb (HB) and 1 inch National Pipe Thread (NPT) respectively, and the pump operates effectively at a maximum temperature of 140°F. The lubricating oil type recommended for this pump is 30 SAE. The through input shaft has a diameter of 1 inch on one end and 1-3/8 inches with a 6-spline on the opposite end. The pump weighs approximately 41.8 pounds.
