The Ultima Controller provides complete access to all advanced
features of the Ultima and Ultima X Gas Monitors, as well as the
Toxgard II Gas Monitor, through its full-function keypad. The
controller is used to set the real time clock, set alarm levels,
change span-gas values, display date of last calibration, display
minimum, maximum and average gas values, change address and set future
calibration time/date in addition to providing basic calibration
functions. It is completely password-protected.

The Ultima Auto-Calibration Module automatically performs all routine
calibrations on your Ultima Gas Monitor. It can calibrate your gas
monitor at any specified increment. The auto-calibration can be
scheduled at any convenient time even in the middle of the night when
your process is off line. Auto-calibration saves you money, by freeing
your maintenance staff from performing the periodic sensor
calibrations needed.

Expands the versatility of any Ultima Gas Monitor by providing relay
contacts for each of the three alarm levels or fault conditions within
the Ultima Gas Monitor. It can be connected anywhere along a digital
network data line or directly to an individual Ultima Gas Monitor. By
utilizing an Ultima Relay Module with a digital network data line
system, the relay contacts can be activated from any other input to
the system providing tremendous flexibility. Wiring saves money by
allowing the relay module to be installed close to the device it is
intended to actuate.

design provides the IR sensor in a small, explosion-proof module that

Monitor sensor/transmitter platform. The small gas diffusion volume

The MSA Model 5000 Monitoring System uses a variety of remote sensors
to monitor a wide range of combustible and toxic gases and oxygen
deficiency. The Model 5000 Monitoring System has options with up to
24 monitoring channels and is available in a general purpose
wall-mounted enclosure, a NEMA 4X wall-mounted enclosure, a
panel-mounted design or an explosion-proof housing. Each channel has
a three-digit LED display with three separate alarm levels. Each
alarm level has a status LED on the front panel. The alarm level for
each channel can be displayed by a single push button.

The FlameGard UV/IR Flame Detector constantly monitors for the
ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) radiation that all
hydrocarbon-fueled fires and flames emit. When radiation is detected,
the FlameGard Flame Detector activates a relay, indicating a fire or
flame exists. This relay can be part of a fire alarm loop or connected
to a distributed control system (DCS).

The new BIOSENSOR 2200R Biological Agent Detector from MSA is a
handheld, portable, on-site instrument for rapid detection, analysis,
and identification of biological agents. Unique bioassay technology
offers excellent sensitivity and low false positives while offering
ease of use during white powder response calls. This highly accurate
detection method provides rapid measurement of biohazards such as
anthrax, ricin, botulism, SEB, and plague.
Exclusive five minute time-to-answer allows first responders to make
informed critical decisions more rapidly than any other biological
agent detector. The BIOSENSOR 2200R employs dynamic surface
generation, a patent pending type of immunoassay detection technology.
This technology offers significant advantages over other field-based
assay methods by combining the benefits of both the free solution and
lateral flow types. The result is more rapid analysis, a user-friendly
format, and detector stability within a wide range of climates.
Both wet and dry samples may be tested and results are displayed with
a simple red (target present) or green (no target present) indication.
As tests are nondestructive, samples may be retained as evidence.
Single-test, disposable cartridges with on-board reagents have a
12-month shelf life. This instrument is permanently housed in a
sturdy, lightweight Pelican case.

Exchange sensors on demand
MSA is pleased to offer a new sensor-replacement service. With the
Ultima X Series Sensor X-change Program, receive replacement
calibrated sensor modules when they are needed, on demand. Sensors
arrive prior to the Ultima X Gas Monitors scheduled calibration due
date for easy installation and minimal downtime. Simply change out the
old sensor with the new, perform a gas check, and the gas detection
system is operational.
How the program works
1. Replacement modules are shipped at pre-determined intervals of 1,
2, 3, 6, and 12 months. Sign a program agreement for your choice of 1,
2, or 3 years.
2. Receive a pre-calibrated sensor module plus complete calibration
documentation in a returnable, pre-labeled container.
3. The shipping container, which identifies the sensor type, is used
for return of the old sensor module.

Advanced design uses SMD components throughout. The 9010 operates with
1 independent sensor (single-channel) while the 9020 uses 2
independent sensors (dual-channel) per control module, offering
considerable cost savings while maintaining high reliability and
performance.

Product Information
The SAFECONNECT Belt-Bridge works with the Sirius Detector for
integration into the MSA SAFESITE Multi-Threat Detection System.
These new system components offer up to two miles of wireless
communication plus an updated Graphical User Interface (GUI) which
provides all mission-critical information in one uncomplicated format.
The Sirius Wireless Interface features an IR link which gathers the
information from the Sirius Multigas Detector (PID, CO, H2S, O2 and
combustible gases) and then sends the information to the SAFECONNECT
Belt-Bridge via Bluetooth technology.
The SAFECONNECT Belt-Bridge converts the signal from the Sirius and
transmits the information plus GPS location back to the SAFECOM
Command Center via a 1 watt, spread spectrum, frequency hopping, 900
MHz radio
The SAFECOM Command Center receives the 900 MHz signal from the
SAFECONNECT Belt-Bridge and converts it to practical information for
rapid decision making. The SAFESITE System can display simultaneous
information from the SAFEMTX Detectors and the Sirius Multigas
Detector for complete coverage.
All of these components are designed for integration with MSA's
SAFESITE System, combining state-of-the-art detection technologies.
The SAFESITE System provides superior preventative and counter-measure
solutions for homeland security and emergency response personnel,
public events, building protection, perimeter monitoring, hazardous
response, port surveillance and confined space monitoring.

The SAFESITE Sentry Chemical Agent Detector provides 24/7 WMD

Principles of Operation
The CW Sentry Chemical Warfare Agent Detector uses a surface acoustic
wave (SAW) sensor array with a thermally modulated sample collector to
detect CWAs and avoid false positives. To expand the CW Sentrys
capabilities, an electrochemical sensor array is added to detect TICs.
Analysis data can be reported via RS232, ethernet, fiber optic, or
switch closures. This architecture facilitates networking of multiple
instruments into large monitoring sensor nodes.

The CW Sentry Chemical Warfare Agent Detector from MSA is a compact,
wall-mounted instrument designed to detect the release of Chemical
Warfare Agents (CWAs) and selected Toxic Industrial Chemicals (TICs).
The CW Sentry is a fully automated detection system designed for fixed
site installations such as office buildings, HVAC systems, subways and
airports. The CW Sentry employs a sophisticated, highly selective
detection system designed to operate in complex environmental
conditions. The detector is field-supportable, inexpensive to operate
and requires very little maintenance. Created specifically to function
in real world environments, the CW Sentry has anticipated and met the
requirements for effective 24/7 CW agent detection.

The MSA TRIGARD Monitoring System is designed for monitoring chlorine,
sulfur dioxide and other toxic gases, as well as for oxygen deficiency
or enrichment. These new monitors were designed specifically for water
and wastewater facilities which are typically large producers of these
gases. The MSA TRIGARD Monitor offers an affordable monitoring
solution for a variety of needs.

Advanced Features
Sensor Disconnect Under Power: MSAs patented feature allows for sensor
change-out without declassifying a hazardous area.
Interchangeable Smart Sensors: Pre-calibrated sensor modules are ready
for installation out of the box. Sensors can be replaced in the field
without the use of tools. The unit quickly recognizes the new sensor
type and reconfigures alarm and relay settings to optimize the new
sensor.
State-of-the-Art Display: Liquid crystal display conveniently
alternates between sensor reading and gas type and features scrolling
messaging, indicating ongoing diagnostic checks such as sensor
"end-of-life" condition.
World-Class Design: Engineering efforts feature a single-board design
for ultimate reliability and serviceability. The mounting enclosure
has been designed to be separate from the electronics and sensor,
allowing for problem-free installation and servicing.
Onboard LEDs and Relays: "Quickcheck" LEDs and four relay outputs
allow for increased indication of alarm and fault
conditions.Quickcheck" LEDs, viewable from up to 50 feet, indicate
NORMAL (green) and ALERT (red) status conditions. Field programmable
alarm levels and normally energized/de-energized, normally
opened/closed and latching/non-latching relay functions offer three
levels of alarm and a fault.

The Z Gard DS Sensor is designed to detect the presence of carbon
monoxide and nitrogen dioxide gases in parking garages, vehicle
storage areas or wherever else these two toxic gases may be found.
Z Gard DS Sensors are available with two output versions; an
addressable RS-485 digital signal or a version with separate 4-20mA
analog outputs for the two gases. The Z Gard DS Sensor with RS-485
digital output is specifically designed to operate with any Z Gard C
485 Controller, operating as a system. The Z Gard DS Sensor with
4-20mA outputs can be installed as a stand-alone sensor typically
integrated with the Z Gard C Controller or common commercial equipment
including PLC, DCS or building automation systems.

The MSA Chillgard NH3 Gas Monitor provides fast, reliable detection of
parts-per-million (ppm) levels of ammonia, down to -40 C. World-class
design and engineering offer a single-board design for ultimate
reliability and serviceability in an economical package. The
full-scale range of the unit is 0-1000 ppm, with the capability of
measuring a leak as low as 10 ppm, well below the established
threshold limit values for ammonia.

SafeTOX and SafeVOC Gas Monitors are used in a variety of industrial
applications. The monitors are easy to install and operate; just apply
power to the SafeTOX or SafeVOC Gas Monitor and it is ready for
operation. SafeTOX and SafeVOC Monitors can be applied in any indoor
and outdoor application where there is a threat of the build-up of
combustible gases, the presence of toxic gases, or oxygen deficiency.
All SafeTOX and SafeVOC Gas Monitors are designed for maximum
performance and reliability.
All monitors are:
o Housed in a rugged, metal enclosure designed for NEMA 4X
o Designed with the sensor mounted external to the enclosure, it is
easily replaced by simply unscrewing the sensor housing and removing
the plug-in sensor
o Factory calibrated, making them ready for installation and immediate
operation
o Uniquely designed to eliminate all potentiometers, or any other type
of internal adjustment
o Shipped with a unique Sensorgard which protects the sensor from
dirt, water, etc., while allowing gas to penetrate into the unit. The
Sensorgard also acts as a baffle in windy environments.

o Large, 1.75, four-digit LED display
o Three levels of alarm
o Large LED alarm indicators
o Internal relay contacts for FAULT, CAUTION, WARNING and ALARM
o A normally-energized fault relay provides a contact output for any
condition that would not be considered NORMAL
o Failsafe fault relay output
o Diagnostics that appear on the display
o Audible alarm
o 4-20 mA output

The Z Gard S Sensor is designed to detect the presence of carbon
monoxide gas, nitrogen dioxide, or refrigerants in air. All Z Gard S
Sensors are available with two output versions, a 4-20 mA analog
output or an addressable RS-485 digital signal. The Z Gard S Sensor
with RS-485 digital output is specifically designed to operate with
any Z Gard C 485 Controller, operating as a system. The Z Gard S
Sensor with 4-20 mA can be installed as a stand-alone sensor typically
integrated with the Z Gard C Controller or common commercial equipment
including PLC, DCS or building automation systems.

Product Information
The Z Gard CX Controller is designed to interface with remote MSA Z
Gard Sensors. The monitor provides programmable operating parameters,
which are organized by a menu interface keypad. Up to 40 remote gas
sensors are connected via RS-485 serial communication ports managed by
the Z Gard CX Controller network. The monitor, acting as host, governs
the digital RS-485 serial communication and automatically coordinates
the remote devices.

Product Information
Z Gard C Controllers are economical gas monitoring products designed
to suit a variety of alarm and control applications. The Z Gard C
Controller can accept 4 to 20 mA or RS-485 inputs from MSA Z Gard S
Sensors. Controllers are available that can accept inputs from 1 to 8
remote sensors. Single and four-point controllers feature an
easy-to-read display, 4-20 mA analog output, relay outputs, and an
audible alarm. The eight-point version also features a keypad user
interface located on the front panel of the controller which is used
to control many of the output functions of the unit.

Principles of Operation

Continually monitors the bulk plant through catalytic combustible
sensor technology. The sensor detects the presence of the bulk product
and converts the gas into a % LEL reading. Once the detection limit of
10% LEL is exceeded, the system immediately shuts down all valves.

The Suprema Control System for fire and gas detection features a
modular redundancy design that provides adapted flexibility to any
monitoring system or safety requirement. Designed to meet a wide range
of monitoring needs, the Suprema Controller provides signal processing
for up to 256 inputs and 512 relay and analog outputs.
SUPREMA electronic cards, modules and chassis can be coated to be
installed for Platform applications (marine environments), this
process is done at our main factory and complies with the ISA-71.04 G3
standard.

The Chillgard LE Refrigerant Monitor can detect five of the most
commonly used refrigerants from up to four remote locations. Standard
features include water and chemical resistant enclosure, LCD display,
85Db buzzer, three levels of alarm, four relays, 4-20mA, 0-10V &
RS-485 outputs. The Chillgard LE Refrigerant Monitor meets the
requirements of ASHRAE 15 for detection below the TLV for refrigerant
gases.

The Chillgard LS Refrigerant Monitor is a stand-alone sensor for
detection of the five most commonly used refrigerant gases. (R-11,
R-12, R-22, R-123 and R-134a) Standard features include water and
chemical resistant enclosure, five LED's to indicate power, alarm and
fault conditions, 4-20 mA output and RS-485 ModBus output for
communication to the Chillgard LC Control Module. The Chillgard LS
Refrigerant Monitor sensor module meets the requirements of ASHRAE 15
for detection below the TLV for refrigerant gases.

The Ultima Network Display Module expands the capabilities of any
Ultima Plus Digital Network System by providing the user with the
ability to remotely view the status of a digital Ultima Gas Monitor.
It can be connected anywhere along the Ultima Plus Digital Network
System data line and can be configured to display the gas sensor
status of up to eight modules on the network. Installation costs are
minimized since only a network cable is required to tie the display
module to the network.
