ANTIFREEZE for heating and cooling systems

A blend of virgin (not recycled) propylene glycol and high purity Triple Protection additives, formulated foruse in closed loop hydronic heating and cooling systems. Cryotek can also be used in radiant tube heating systems, most solar heating systems and geothermal loops. Hercules' exclusive Triple Protectionformula stabilizes pH to prevent acid corrosion, chelates hard water minerals and inhibits the formation of scale and sediment. These components work together to keep the system clean and operating efficientlyby eliminating system deposits, improving heat transfer and minimizing wear to moving parts and seals. Cryotek is compatible with PEX and elastomeric radiant tubing, commonly used materials for seals andbushings and provides corrosion protection for cast iron, steel, copper, brass and solder. Cryotek has not been tested for use in systems containing CPVC plastic. Standard cryotek products should not beused in systems containing aluminum and operating above 160oF/71oC. Cryotek 100/AL is available for aluminum systems. Cryotek should not be used in systems with galvanized piping as the zinc coatingwill be dissolved. Cryotek is a 9498% efficient heat transfer solution in most application dilutions. It has a lower freeze point and higher boiling point than water and is nonflammable, odorless, nontoxic, nonirritating and compatible with Hercules boiler stop leaks and heating system cleaner products.

Cryotek is available in 3 formulations: Cryotek Original Contains virgin (not recycled) propylene glycol with Triple Protection corrosion inhibitor, premixed readyto use formulation. Can be added directly into system undiluted or diluted as required. Certified

Performance: Freeze Protection Down to 22oF / 30oC, Pumpable Down to 27oF / 33oC, and BurstProtection Down to 80oF / 62oC. Cryotek Original can be further diluted with water for less severe conditions.(see Table II, page 3) Cryotek 100 Contains virgin (not recycled) propylene glycol with Triple Protection corrosion inhibitor, premixed readyto use formulation. Certified Performance: Freeze Protection Down to 70oF / 57oC, Pumpable Down to

1. Zero Adjustment Put distilled water on the prism; enough to cover the entire prism. Close the cover plate and rotate the adjusting screw so that the light/dark boundary line (known as the

shadowline) evens up with the zero line. After the zero adjustment, clean the prism with soft cloth. 2. Sample Preparation and Reading (Detailed operating instructions are included in box) To take a reading, place a few drops of a sample liquid on the measurement prism. Ensure that enough solution is added to the prism in order to cover the entire prism. Close the prism so that the liquid spreads across the entire surface of the prism without air bubbles or dry spots. Allow the sample to remain on the prism for approximately 30 seconds. While holding the instrument under a light source, look through the eyepiece. The salinity concentration is determined by the intersection of the boundary of the light and dark fields (known as the shadowline) on the printed scale. The left side of the scale indicates the specific gravity and the right side parts per thousand. If the scale appears out of focus, the eyepiece may be adjusted by rotating the knurled portion. The instrument also features an eye guard to prevent stray light from entering the eyepiece and causing reflections. It may be necessary to adjust the position of the light source to maximize the contrast of the shadowline. Under normal conditions, optimal contrast is obtained by holding the instrument underneath and perpendicular to a light source. Once a reading has been taken, wipe dry with a clean cloth (do not wash or rinse) and place the instrument in the supplied plastic case. Store the instrument in a safe, dry environment. Temperature is the single most important factor influencing refractometer readings and is one of the largest sources of measurement error. However, this device incorporates automatic temperature compensation and the concern for temperature fluctuations in sample liquids is alleviated. When ambient temperature varies from 68oF (20oC),readings are automatically adjusted to compensate for temperature variance between 50oF to 86oF (10oC to 30oC). ANTIFREEZE for aluminum heat exchanger heating and cooling systems

A new generation of very efficient boilers utilizing ALUMINUM HEAT EXCHANGERS are becoming more popular in today's marketplace. These new boilers typically heat three times faster than traditional boilers and require a specific, unique blend of antifreeze specific to protecting against acid corrosion.

Cryotek 100/AL is a blend of virgin (not recycled) propylene glycol and Hercules exclusive Triple Protection additives designed for use in hydronic heating and cooling closed loop piping systems (including PEX and radiant tube heating systems), ice melt and general heating systems where aluminum heat exchangers are installed.

Hercules Triple Protection additives provide outstanding protection against acid corrosion, scale and sedimentation formation in properly maintained systems containing recommended concentrations of cryotek AntiFreeze.

* Acid neutralizing agent protects by neutralizing corrosive acids.

* Mineral Deposition Preventative eliminates scale formation on critical heat transfer surfaces, piping

systems and equipment.

* Mineral Sediment Preventative keeps minerals in solution, resisting formation of clusters of mineral salts

and preventing particles from precipitating out of solution.

Used at recommended levels, all three agents work together to prevent bio film (slime) buildup. Cryotek 100/AL may be used in systems fabricated with metal, plastics (except CPVC) and rubber piping, fittings, seals, and other parts. Corrosion inhibitors in all cryotek products protect against corrosive buildup within the piping loop and are effective with most metals including steel, aluminum* and copper. Cryotek solutions have a high specific heat and are efficient at transferring heat.

As packaged, cryotek is nonflammable, odorless, nonirritating, and compatible with Hercules boiler stop leaks.

Formulated for the maximum propylene glycol protection directly out of the container. Certified Performance: Freeze Protection Down to 60oF / 51oC, Pumpable Down to** to 70oF / 57oC, and Burst Protection Down to 100oF / 73oC.

Cryotek 100/AL can be diluted with water for less severe conditions. (See Chart page 3.)

Test Kits and Accessories

Freeze protection levels and corrosion protection levels should be checked annually. Use Hercules Refractometer (35290) and pH Meter (35272) or, cryotek Test Kit (35271). Add additional cryotek product, if freeze protection is inadequate. Add cryotek 100/AL Inhibitor (35274), if pH is below 7. 0. (see Maintenance section).

DESCRIPTION *Please check with equipment manufacturer of system to determine compatibility with this product. **Minimum flow protection levels are estimated and are dependent on system and equipment.
